So I've decided to take up running (:O crazy because running and I don't really get along...) Anyways I've found this really awesome program called Couch to 5K and its designed to get a couch potato and turn them into a running machine! Well I figured what better place to share this program than Eats,Sweets & Sweats! Here is the program
Tomorrow will be Week 3 Day 2 for myself :) I'm actually pretty amazed that I have made it so far without giving up yet, like I said earlier, running and I are not friends. One more thing I should mention is I use an iPod app to help track for how long I should run and when to switch from jogging to walking. I'm lazy! I don't want to keep track of all that nonsense. I use this C25K Free iPod App. Its great because it lets me listen to my music while I run, but it also has noise and voice commands that tell me when to switch. Oh, and its free! :)

  1. It is so awesome that you are taking on this challenge for yourself. I personally am very intrigued because running is not a good friend of mine either. It's really embarrassing when people want to race and I can't even get a few yards without getting out of breath or giving up. I could walk all day, but running is a whole other demon. I'm going to look into this couch to 5k thing. Thanks for the info!

    1. Heather,
No problem! I'm so glad I could help! its actually amazing so far. I'm currently on week 5 and i just keep saying to myself. Wow? did I really just jog for 3 minutes without feeling like I was going to die?! when I first started I was out of breathe after 30 seconds! Hopefully you'll give it a try!

  2. I used a challenge just this when I was training for a 5k after not running for a while! They honestly work if you keep at it! I feel we're the same..I LOVE to bake and eat sweets, but still tryyyy to run. (Right now, though, I suck and I'm just eating and not working out what so ever :)). Good luck on training!

    1. Thanks for the support Renae! I've never come anything close to a 5k before and hopefully this plan will help! I feel like I'm always stuck at just eating and not working out. Once you get in a rhythm though it makes it a lot easier :)

  3. I actually used this program to run a couple of 5ks a couple of years ago and it was awesome. It's not that I never work out but running.... not so much... lately, I have been wanting to get back to running 5ks maybe so I will be using your blog if I do!

    1. Seriously!? I'm so glad that you say that because part of me was wondering if this couch to 5k program actually works. I was a little skeptical about it but I guess I can see my endurance slowly grow stronger. I really hope that you do get back to your 5k's, good luck!
